What bat is legal for Babe Ruth 13-16?

Babe Ruth 13-16, current rules: Use a bat with the USA Baseball mark or a BBCOR bat (or a one-piece wood bat), with a barrel no wider than 2 5/8 in. Any drop is fine.

Checked Oct 27, 2026. Confirm with your league before you buy: local leagues and tournaments can set their own rules, stricter or looser than the national ones. The rule in full and its sources.

Typical bat size for ages 13 to 16

Bat makers' charts put most players aged 13 to 16 at 31–33 in (Louisville Slugger, DeMarini, Rawlings) and suggest a -8 or -5 drop (Louisville Slugger, DeMarini). That's a guide, not a rule: height, weight and strength matter more, so see what size bat your kid needs. Your league's limits above always come first.
